GINGERBREAD PRESCHOOL

Tuesdays & Thursdays for 3 Hours (9 a.m. till Noon)

Classes Starting September 1, 2011 through May 17, 2012.

Mission Statement: To provide an enriched child focused learning experience that enables children to reach their full potential.

Registration & Curriculum Fee: $45

Tuition: $75 a month.

The Preschool Program is structured and allows children to participate as a member of the classroom community during specific times, such as large and small group activities, circle time, snack time, outdoor play, and several field trips. Activities are developmentally appropriate and are structured to encourage development and growth in social skills, motor skills, creativity, and basic learning skills. Learning centers will provide opportunities for children to explore, experiment, discover, share, learn, and practice newly acquired skills. Teaching will be done on phonological awareness, print awareness, oral language, alphabetic knowledge skills, and more. Also provided are opportunities for children to select activities they wish to participate in such as art, blocks, listening and story area, dramatic play, and others.

I Will Be Taking the School Year Off!

I am expecting baby number 4 in October, so I am taking the school year off. I will be organizing a play group throughout this school year. The following year (2010-2011) I have plans to offer a 4 year old class and possibly a 3 year old class. Time will tell.

I absolutely loved teaching as my own preschool last year. Thanks to all the parents for giving me the opportunity. I feel very blessed to have been given the chance to teach these young minds. It makes me so happy to do something that I love.

Start of the New School Year!

Preschool has started and I am loving every minute of it. I have some adorable students. Last week we had a pretend bus tour around the preschool. This way the kids were shown where all of our centers are and the necessary items we use in the preschool. The Gingerbread Baby left us a note in which we were sent on a scavenger hunt to find Gingersnaps and frosting decorations to make our own Gingerbread Baby faces. We fill the day with lots of books, fun, and various activities.

This week we are talking about our Bodies. We pretended to be a giant caterpillar and played Body Part Bingo. We also talked about our 5 senses. We are having a blast.

We are working on many new things, especially the Pledge of Allegiance and the Days of the Week (sung to the tune of 'The Adam's Family').
